Downloading & Setup Instructions
The British Columbia Electric Railway V3
Installation.
There is no need to worry about the installation of the Route.
It is simple, but you must have already installed the
“Microsoft Train Simulator”.
(No need for all the original Routes to be installed, as no bat file is required to be activated. It is completely self-contained.)
After Un-zipping the folder, place it on the desktop, and click the exe file to install directly to your
“Microsoft Train Simulator”.
(Check the route is being sent to the right path destination) That’s it, done.
It should self install the route and the trains etc into the correct folders.
Note. You do need to have “Distant Mountains” Activated in the Display set up, for the full benefit of viewing the scenery.
Start to play now, but give it time to generate the files on the first play.
This route is heavily populated, and designed to be played on a modern fast computer. If yours is older and have problems with the frame rate then you can reduce the features in the settings, at the expense of the scenery,
to gain a faster rate.
There are only a few activities with this installation as it is a single line track that was run on a baton change priority system.
But you can enjoy in the Explore mode and maybe create your own.
First take a journey in the driver’s position with the introduction ride.
The BCER V3 Incorporates Markers by Norman Beveridge to enable his
Activities Template to function, so look out for them when they are released.
For the purists, this is not, and never can be, an exact tree for tree
Photo realistic view of the Area involved.
It is a representation of the places and mountains of a beautiful part of Canada in the 1930/40’s, built within the limitations of the computer game.
If we have got one tiny bit correct and it pleases you, then we will be happy.
We do hope you enjoy.
Look in the Route for “Information Docs” folder for extra help.
