HISTORY

Built at the Interstate Public Service Company shops at Scottsburg, Indiana in 1926, Line Car 217 was later renumbered 772 after IPSC of Indiana was combined in 1931 with several other electric railway companies in the Indiana Railway System. It's fifteen year career ended abruptly south of Columbia, Indiana, where it was wrecked on September 8th 1941, in a head-on collision with passenger car 71.

The Ipsc_217 Line Car was powered by four GE 205A motors of 110HP each, and riding on 33 inch wheels in MCB type trucks from Baldwin. The unit had Westinghouse HL controls at each end. Nr 217 weighed 65,600 pounds, 2.3 Tons.
